In the Footsteps of William Blake - Poetry Competition - December 3rd 2025
The Bognor Regis Heritage and Arts Partnership were proud to support the fantastic evening of poetry at the Bognor Regis Library hosting the event in conjunction with the Blake Cottage Trust and Bognor Regis Library.
Members of the Bognor Regis Heritage and Arts Partnership were on hand to welcome and assist the guests and audience. Rachel Searle provided an in depth view of William Blake’s journey to Felpham and his work whilst in the village. Doug Nicholls then gave an update on the progress on the restoration of the Cottage.
Actress Jean Rogers read and brilliantly interpreted a number of Blakes poems before reading the excellent six shortlisted poems from the competition. The three winners were presented with their prizes by the compere for the evening local author Simon Brett.
The winners and short listed entries are provided below, our thanks to all those who submitted entries and congratulations to the winners and those shortlisted.
A fantastic evening supported by an enthusiastic audience. The Bognor Regis Heritage and Arts Partnership has plans for further literary events in 2026. Watch this space.
